GAME OF THE WEEK: HEAVYWEIGHTS COLLIDE IN AUSTIN!

No. 10 Michigan Wolverines (1–0) vs. No. 1 Texas Longhorns (1–0)

RAINE VS. HOWIE (AKA CG) — TWO POWERHOUSES, TWO DIFFERENT IDENTITIES, ONE BIG-TIME SHOWDOWN!

Austin, Texas, is about to become the center of the USDA universe as two of the league's biggest heavy hitters prepare for an early-season showdown! Defending National Champion Coach Raine and his No. 1 Texas Longhorns welcome Coach Howie, better known as CG, and his No. 10 Michigan Wolverines to town for a Week 2 matchup that could shake up the entire league.

These two coaches are no strangers to putting up ridiculous rushing numbers. In the old days, this matchup would've been nothing more than two grown men lining up and seeing who could rush for 1,000 yards first! But times are changing in Austin, and Coach Raine might have a few new tricks up his sleeve.

TEXAS: A NEW IDENTITY FOR THE DEFENDING CHAMPS?

Coach Raine is coming off a National Championship and enters this showdown riding a 13-game winning streak. The Longhorns opened their season by demolishing New Mexico State 45–3, proving that the defending champs aren't planning on slowing down anytime soon.

But this isn't necessarily the same Texas team everybody remembers.

After years of pounding opponents into submission with the running game, Raine has decided it's time to become more balanced. Enter Drew Mestemaker, the gunslinging quarterback brought in through the transfer portal to give Texas a legitimate aerial attack.

And Mestemaker couldn't have walked into a better situation!

With star receiver Cam deciding to skip the NFL Draft and return for his senior season, Texas now has a dangerous No. 1 target capable of making defenses pay for stacking the box.

The message is simple: Texas can still run that football, but now opponents might have to worry about getting 400 yards thrown on their heads too!

However, there's one major question surrounding the Longhorns. After losing several key defensive pieces, can Raine's defense remain one of the most feared units in USDA? The championship defense has some new faces, and Michigan is coming to Austin ready to test every last one of them.

### MICHIGAN: SAME OLD HOWIE, SAME OLD GROUND GAME!

While Raine is experimenting with a new offensive identity, Coach Howie isn't interested in changing a damn thing!

The Wolverines are coming off an impressive 66–10 beatdown of Buffalo, and Howie has made it clear that Michigan's identity remains exactly what it's always been: RUN THAT FOOTBALL UNTIL SOMEBODY STOPS IT!

With quarterback Bryce Underwood and running back Savion Hiter leading the charge, Michigan has the weapons to make life miserable for any defensive coordinator.

Howie wants to control the clock, dominate the trenches, wear defenses down, and make opponents regret ever lining up across from his offensive line.

But there's a catch.

Will Bryce Underwood be able to make enough plays through the air to keep Coach Raine honest?

Everybody knows Raine loves playing aggressive defense. If Michigan can't establish a passing threat, don't be surprised to see Texas load eight or nine defenders into the box and dare Underwood to beat them with his arm.

And just like Texas, Michigan has some defensive concerns of its own. The Wolverines lost several important contributors from last season, and this new-look defense will face its first serious examination against one of the most explosive offenses in the country.

Stopping Buffalo is one thing. Stopping Drew Mestemaker, Cam, and the defending national champions is a whole different ballgame!

THE BELT IS ON THE LINE!

There's more than rankings and bragging rights at stake in Austin.

Coach Raine enters this matchup as the defending national champion, but Coach Howie currently stands between him and another valuable prize: the USDA Belt Token!

Raine wants that belt, and he wants to keep his championship momentum rolling. Howie, on the other hand, has an opportunity to walk into the defending champion's house, silence the Texas faithful, and remind the entire league that Michigan is still one of the biggest dogs in USDA.

One coach wants to prove his new offense is even more dangerous than before. The other wants to prove that old-school, smashmouth football can still dominate anybody.

FIVE BIG QUESTIONS HEADING INTO WEEK 2

1\. Can Drew Mestemaker light up Michigan's rebuilt secondary? Texas brought him in to air it out, and this is his first major opportunity to show why.

2\. Can Savion Hiter run wild against Texas? Michigan will need its ground game firing on all cylinders to control the tempo.

3\. Will Bryce Underwood make Texas respect the pass? If he can't, Raine might stack the box all night long.

4\. Which rebuilt defense will step up? Both teams lost key pieces, and somebody's new starters will have to grow up fast.

5\. Will Coach Raine keep the belt from Howie, or will CG shock the defending champions in Austin?

USDA FINAL WORD

This isn't just another Week 2 matchup. This is two established USDA powerhouses going head-to-head, with championship expectations hanging over both sidelines.

Texas is trying to build a dynasty behind Coach Raine's new balanced attack, while Michigan is determined to prove that Coach Howie's physical, run-first philosophy can still beat the best teams in the country.

Both coaches enter undefeated. Both are coming off blowout victories. Both have something to prove.

Will the Longhorns continue their reign of terror, or will Coach Howie and the Wolverines march into Austin, steal the belt, and put the entire USDA on notice?

ONE THING IS CERTAIN: SOMEBODY'S PERFECT RECORD IS GETTING SNATCHED IN WEEK 2!
