Legacy Points (LP)

4 rules

Legacy Points are the dynasty's long-term scoreboard. Wins and losses reset every season. LP does not — it follows you, year after year, and it is the record of who actually carried the league.

The system rewards one thing above all: showing up. Playing your games, logging your scores, holding your spot when the dynasty is five years deep and the novelty is gone. Legacy is earned — by being present and playing, season after season.

Every regular-season game you actually play earns LP at your season's rate.

  • Season 1 pays 1.0 LP per game. Every season after that adds 0.1 — Season 2 pays 1.1, Season 3 pays 1.2, and so on. (Season N = 1.0 + 0.1 × (N − 1).)
  • Week 0 is a real week and pays like any other.
  • The National Championship pays +1.0 LP to both teams, and +4.0 more to the winner. A title is worth 5.0 LP — the biggest single prize on the board.
  • Conference championships, playoff rounds and bowl games pay nothing. Only the regular season and the title game move LP.

Later seasons pay more on purpose. It is easy to be active when a dynasty is brand new. Still scheduling, still playing, still holding your spot in Season 8 means more, and the rate says so.

When the league moves to a new EA title, season numbering restarts at Season 1 — and so does the rate.

A simmed game earns 0 LP for both teams. No LP from a sim against the CPU, no LP from a sim against another user, and it does not matter who was at fault.

LP rewards participation, not arguments about participation. If LP were awarded on fault, the system would become about who can build the best case rather than who got on the sticks and played. If the game was not played, there is nothing to reward.

There is no fault-based appeal. There is one correction, and it is a data fix rather than an appeal: a game you genuinely played that got marked a sim by mistake can be flipped back, and the LP returns.

Logging your score is part of playing the game. LP is not only earned — it can be spent by inattention.

Who owes the log:

  • User vs. user: the winner logs it.
  • User vs. CPU: the lone human logs it, win or lose. The CPU cannot post a score.
  • A tie, or a game where neither side has an active coach, has no responsible logger and carries no fine.

The two fines:

  • −0.99 LP — no-log fine. Charged when the responsible logger never posted the score: either the office had to post it for them, or the game sat unplayed and unlogged until the office swept it.
  • −0.11 LP — sim not flagged. Charged when a score went up but the sim box was not ticked and the office had to mark it.
  • They stack. An unplayed game the office ends up logging as a sim costs the responsible coach −1.10 LP.

Simming does not excuse the log. A sim earns 0 LP and still owes a posted score.

The office applies fines one game at a time, with the reason attached, and reverses one if the game turns out not to have been real. They are corrections, not accusations, and every one of them is avoided by doing the cheapest thing in the league: posting the score. If a fine looks wrong, the league office is where you contest it, not league chat — see Complaints.
