Legacy Points (LP)
4 rules
Legacy Points (LP) are the dynasty's long-term scoreboard. The system is built to reward users who show up, play their games, stay active, and help carry the league forward across multiple seasons.
LP is not about chasing quick glory. At USDA, legacy is earned — by being present and playing, season after season.
LP is awarded for regular season games actually played. The per-game rate scales up each season:
- Season 1: 1.0 LP per game
- Each season after: +0.1 LP per game
- Examples:
- Season 2 = 1.1 LP per game
- Season 3 = 1.2 LP per game
- Season 4 = 1.3 LP per game
Later seasons are worth more because it is easy to be active when a dynasty is brand new. Staying active in later seasons — still scheduling, still playing, still holding your spot — means more, and the LP rate reflects that.
Sims earn 0 LP for both teams, with no exceptions:
- You do not earn LP from a sim vs. CPU
- You do not earn LP from a sim vs. another user
- This applies regardless of who was at fault for the sim
LP rewards participation, not arguments over participation. If LP were awarded based on fault, the system would become about who can build the best case rather than who got on the sticks and played.
Most sim penalties historically came from users not playing CPU games — the easiest work on the schedule. If a game was not played, there is nothing to reward. Legacy is earned.
